Those precious aha moments!

In my life the greatest aha moments or shifts in my consciousness have occurred in one of 3 ways:

  • The first is when there has been a positive event has happened in my life: like falling in love with my husband or the birth of my 2 sons.
  • The second has been when there has been a crisis, in my life. For example, the death of my uncle, way too young to die and when I have had a health scare: such as tearing the cartilage in my hip and needing surgery and when I had a breast cancer scare. At these times, I have really stopped and evaluated my life and taken action to improve it.

When these type of events have happened, it’s been like a train changing tracks, suddenly I have a new perspective on life, a whole new view of the world.

  • The third way has been through personal development, which I was lucky enough to discover in my early 30s and it began with a book called the art of happiness by the Dalai Lama and Harold Cutter: from this book I learned that happiness is not about what we have, it’s about what we chose to think and that no matter what happens to us in life, we always have a choice about how we react.

Since then I have been on a journey of personal development, reading many books, attending courses, following the likes of Tony Robbins, Chloe Madanes, Brendon Burchard, neuroscience expert Daniel Amen and my new gratitude guru Tommy Wyatt.

I don’t know about you but I’d prefer to have these shifts in my life through personal development rather than waiting for a crisis or magical event to occur. Personal development allows us to become empowered, motivated, passionate and to change our life, for the better, or to at least try.

So unless you are one of those rare people who has a perfect life: ask yourself, what’s it going to take to make you take action towards creating the happier, healthier, more successful, more abundant life, you just know you deserve?
